Kabita was released on 1977 Bengali film starring Mala Sinha, Kamal Hasan, Ranjit Mullick, Sandhya Roy, Mahua Roy Chowdhury, Samit Bhanja, Tun Tun, Gita Dey, Bikash Roy, Anil Chatterjee, Kamu Mukhopadhyay, Bankim Ghos, Satindra Bhattacharya, Bimal Deb, Sulta Choudhury, Chandrima Bhadury, Mina Mukhopadhyay. The Bengali film is directed by BS Jang Bahadur Rana. Salil Chowdhury scored the music in the film. The story is as Kabita stayed in Kolkata with her mother, three sisters, and her brother’s family. She is the only earning member among them. All her family members as well as office colleague thought her as a proud, arrogant and very angry woman. She had a lover and his name was Tilok. Kabita could not confess her love because of their family situation. Her brother was a complete alcoholic. She put her every effort to make her family members happy. As a result, Kabita could not say anything when her widow sister who got married to Tilak. Later Kabita came to know that her boss wanted to marry her. In the meantime, Satyen tried hard to change himself and got a job in a restaurant. On the day of marriage, Satyen faced an accident and died. Kabita come to know everything and put her sister in the position of groom. Director Richard Linklater’s follow-up to Slacker takes an autobiographical look at some Texas teens (including Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey) on their last day of school in 1976, centering on student Randall Floyd (Jason London), who moves easily among stoners, jocks and geeks. Floyd is a star athlete, but he also likes smoking weed, which presents a conundrum when his football coach demands he sign a “no drugs” pledge.
